Building a community for a brighter future
Our Purpose and Vision
We aspire to build a single community of Eritreans where our language and identity can be passed on to the future. We are committed to fully developing each young person’s identity, potential and skills.
We believe Tigrinya as a language is a key part of any Eritrean’s identity and being part of their local community. We hope this can help build bridges within the community to enjoy meaningful relationships.
Aboy Kidane Tigrinya School
Through our structured curriculum we take a learner from not knowing or understanding any tigrinya to being able to communicate proficiently in Tigrinya within 6 months. We are aware that many students and learners need different strategies and approaches to learn as well. We have developed an approach that can support any learners style and existing level of tigrinya.
We provide bespoke mentoring support for young people to explore and cultivate each child’s unique skills, passions and interests. Young people are facing a lot of difficult choices and we believe that with support and by giving them opportunities to grow their potential can be realised. We know that employers and Universities are looking for people who stand out above the rest. We want to support young people to be that.
Academic Excellence Program
Our professional support workers are available to give emotional support for asylum seekers who do not feel they are being represented well. Our team also includes senior social workers with experience with the asylum system who can provide advice, support and advocate too.
